Wave Global is a private company founded by its CEO Darryl Bubner in 1999 with offices in Australia and Ireland.
The company is advised by one of its shareholders, Capital Technic Group Pty Ltd, an investment and advisory group that invests in science and technology based ventures. The company has shareholders who also act as agents in Denmark, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore and Scotland. The company’s online services are managed and delivered by three alliance partners – Aladn System Solutions, Deloitte and Evaluation Solutions.
Until 2006 company activities were focused on R&D. Over the last two years its focus has shifted from R&D to commercialisation, and the company has secured clients from the Multinational Company (“MNC”), Government Department, and Small & Medium Enterprise (“SME”) sectors both in Australia and internationally.
When a field of practice is complex and there are no universally established standards or conventions leaders are faced with the daunting task of learning enough in order to decide the best way to move forward. This is one reason why innovation, the development of resulting intellectual capital and strategic assets, and the concomitant business growth outcomes, is a very challenging area. Year after year surveys report that mangers are dissatisfied with the payoff from their innovation expenditure. For the same reason, managers have difficulty deciding when and where to use external resources and assessing the vendors in the market place.
Wave Global’s mission is to help managers address the innovation challenge successfully by provided world class validated metrics. Consistent with our philosophy these metrics are available both as stand-alone “do it your self” modules and as part of results focused consulting services.
Wave Global tools are derived from proprietary models based on a holistic open system model that links, and aligns, innovation to overall company performance. As a result out metrics and reports go well beyond innovation, linking the required outcomes from innovation to specific growth drivers. This enables clients to measure innovation, intellectual capital development, and their overall business performance, using predictive and behaviourally based non-financial metrics.

Before establishing Wave Global in 1999, Darryl Bubner ran a consulting practice and worked in the areas of strategy, survey research, commercialisation of technological innovation and quality accreditation. He also held senior positions in regional social and economic development program and lectured in management, entrepreneurship and innovation at Monash and Deakin Universities.
In recent years while developing and validating Wave Global metrics Darryl had has been invited to give lectures at numerous universities and innovation research centres including Copenhagen Business School, Denmark; the Centre for Innovation Research Management (CENTRIM), University of Brighton, UK; University of Twente, the Netherlands, the European Organisation for Quality Annual Leaders Retreat; the ANU Innovation Policy Program in Canberra; the School of Accounting at University of Technology Sydney. He is on the Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship expert panel at Swinburne.
Wave Global’s company advisor, Stuart Cole of Capital Technic Consulting Pty Ltd, has previously managed the intellectual property and commercialisation subsidiary company of a major Australian telecommunications company. He has deep experience with the establishment, growth and management of high-technology start-up companies, two of which he has previously taken from being first employee to ASX Listing.
